Since 1989, Schola-ULB has been working to reduce educational inequality in Brussels through a dynamic peer tutoring programme. University students support primary and secondary school pupils who are struggling, offering tailored assistance either in schools or in community centres.
Led by a dedicated professional team, this initiative not only helps students improve their academic performance, but also encourages civic engagement among tutors. Its strength lies in personalised support, the creation of trust-based relationships, and a strong local presence.
Each year, more than 3,000 pupils benefit from the programme across 130 schools and 25 community centres in the Brussels-Capital Region.
Recognising the value and social impact of this initiative, the Fondation Périer-D’Ieteren has committed to supporting Schola-ULB’s tutoring programme over a period of three years.
