Pelicano Foundation
The Pelicano Foundation has been combatting child poverty in Belgium since 2008. It provides children with a secure life: enough food, good education and access to quality teaching and intelligent leisure activities. It works in collaboration with social partners (schools, institutes, etc.) who identify situations of distress. The Foundation’s social committee then selects the children in greatest difficulty, who become a “Pelicano child”. This is a long-term commitment, with these children being monitored and supported until they are integrated into the job market. The Fondation Périer-D’Ieteren has been supporting a “Pelicano child” since 2021.
